He sat down at one of the nearby wooden park benches, rubbing his shoes against the hot ashfelt below. It was a hot day, something he really did dislike. It wasn't that he didn't enjoy sunny days, it was just the unprecedented San Francisco heat which was driving his mood down. Although he was never a fan of the heat, he just had this gut instinct that it had become worse ever since he developed powers; an ice power, ironically enough. The question he did ask himself over and over however, was whether he disliked the heat because he had the power in him all along. It was more than possible, right?
What good was a cyrokinetic if they couldn't turn the heat into a cool breeze, or something like that? Maybe he was just too new at the power to do such a thing, or maybe he just had such high expectations and hopes. In saying this, he picked up the bottle of water he was holding, and focused on it, closing his eyes momentarily. Moments later, after a few failed attempts, he could feel the bottle of water freezing up, as it became colder and colder. He opened his eyes, looking on in surprise, yet relief, when he now had a frozen bottle of water in front of him. Cool. Rubbing the bottle over his sweaty forehead, he opened up the bottle and went to take a sip, but nothing reached his mouth. Oops, he forgot about the repucussions.
Placing the bottle of water next to him on the bench with authority, he begun to ease down a bit and at least attempt to relax. Why he didn't remain indoors at his apartment was beginning to pose his thoughts. It really did seem like a bad idea to be coming out in this heat, he thought he knew better.
