HISTORY. there had been a point in time that tybalt had been human, back during the middle ages. he had been a prince actually, and he was killed by a princess, his wife-to-be the day before their arranged marriage. ellyn was her name, and didn't like the engagement, so she killed him even though he didn't really have anything to do with it. she betrayed him.
not too long after he died, a demon who fed upon sorrow sought out his soul and dragged him down to hell before he had a chance to move on. and this demon saw something special in him, a ritual was preformed to turn him into one as well. a dying high level demon by the name of anthalos was imprisoned inside of him, and the two more or less merged together over time. against his will, of course. but really, it didn't matter what he wanted. however the first thing he did with his new found powers after the ritual completed was kill the one who made him into this monster.
tybalt tried, god did he try to resist the temptations that came along with being a demon. he had been a good person in life, but he didn't really have much of a choice in death. for nearly a hundred years he struggled, but he lost hope and himself when he realized that his battle would last forever. unless he killed himself of course, but he had never been able to bring himself to do it. anthalos always stopped him.
he lost his mind, to put it simply. when he gave himself to evil at last, it felt like such a relief. however, it was and is still rare for him to take the life of an innocent, as if there's still an ounce of good in him. besides, he feeds on betrayal, he doesn't actually have to kill his victims. he just has to get close to them and then betray them and then feed off their grief. and every time it reminds him of his old fiance, a pain that he can't escape.
for quite some time he has wanted to take the place of the source of all evil, but he has been planning it out very carefully. he doesn't like to take chances. but now that the source is a weak demon, tybalt has decided that his time to strike will be soon. the only thing is that if he does succeed, any good left in him will most likely be wiped out completely.
