He was extremely bored and there was nothing to save him, he could have meant to magic school, but he found that boring. He could have played with his powers, but was he really going to do, make water float? Practice potions, make spells, all seemed like a good idea, but it wasn't something Hayden actually wanted to do!
He sighed, and fell onto the bed, he kicked off his shoes, and sat upright. "On." he commanded the T.V to open. Instantly the T.V clicked opened and he began to flip through all the channels with his mind...nothing, nothing, nothing. Just a whole bunch of crap, nobody would ever want to watch. He pointed at the T.V, and instantly it shut off. Hayden really loved playing with his powers especially when he found other ways to use him, just thinking about something happening got boring, he liked to point, and move his head, or squint his eyes. Then his mind began to wonder elsewhere...
"I wonder who's at the park..." he thought to himself, he began to think about where he wanted to go, and instantly he was engulfed in blue and white orbs. When he finally opened his eyes, he found himself behind a tree, where no one was able to see. He liked having set places to orb, that way he wouldn't be exposed. He walked over to the wooden bench sitting in the middle of the park, someone else was seated at the opposite side, and Hayden was actually surprised to know him, it was Nick, one of his mortal friends... or so he thought.
"Hey Nick!" he said happily.

There was just too much to think about, and he couldn't just shut it all out no matter how badly he wished that he could. Too much to worry about. How long would it be before the demons figured out that the power of three had been transferred to a new line? The charmed ones seemed to be doomed to die young, and he wasn't ready for that, damn it. He was only eighteen! They could go take some old hags instead, couldn't they?
The young brunette's dark musings were interrupted by a familiar voice, fortunately. "Oh, Hayden! When did you get here?" Immediately there was a grin pulling at his lips, mostly out of reflex really. He had been so out of it he figured, for not having realized his friend had come around. Nick moved to get up from his own bench so he could walk over to the other guy, but he stopped dead in his tracks when a little kid ran by and brushed against him. His entire body tensed as his eyes fell shut, seeing something else entirely for a moment.
It was the same little boy who had ran by him, he ran up to a part of the river running through the park that was barely frozen over. The kid tried walking over the ice thinking that it could hold him, but it broke and he fell through. The small body slipped beneath the opening and didn't resurface.
Blue eyes snapped back open and Nick swore beneath his breath as he started running after the kid, seeming to completely forget about Hayden for the time being. "Hey, wait up," he yelled out when he saw the little one stepping out onto the ice. The boy slowed to a stop and turned towards him, but it was a little too late since the kid was already halfway across the river. By the time he caught up the ice was cracking, and at the last second he reached his target. The boy's boots had already slipped beneath the water when he yanked the kid back towards him, and the offset of weight sent them both tumbling on the shore.
Nick was wet up to about his knees, the ice hadn't been able to support his weight at all, but he had the advantage of height that this little kid didn't. "Hey, you okay?" He asked, and the boy just nodded with wide eyes before scrambling up and running off yelling 'mama'. The teen watched with a raised eyebrow at first, but shook his head and let out a mixture of a relieved sigh and a chuckle. After a moment, he picked himself up and brushed some snow off.
When he caught sight of Hayden again, he waved as he made his way back over to his friend. "Sorry about that, I just saw that kid running towards the river and thought it might be dangerous," he lied through his teeth with a half-assed laugh as he scratched the back of his head. "It's cold out here, you know?" Nick made a poor attempt at trying to change the subject, and he was drenched from the knees down with ice water, which was why he was so much colder all of a sudden. |

Hayden watched as Nick eye's closed, and something odd happened. Then Nick went after the boy, stopping the kid from falling into the frozen river. Could this be what he thought it was? No...No, this was impossible. Their was no way Nick could have been a witch, right?
When Nick returned back to the bench, he said that he thought the boy was in danger by running off like that. Hayden just couldn't stop thinking about it. How could Nick just predict that was going to happen, and save the boy in time? Maybe Hayden should just come out to Nick and show him his powers? He trusted Nick enough, and if Nick was a witch, Hayden was sure that he would admit after seeing his powers.
"Hmmm. Yeah." he said, agreeing with him. Hayden noticed that Nick was drenched with water, maybe this was the perfect time to tell Nick who he actually was, or show him. Hayden pushed his hands out, before making sure no one was looking. He concentrated on the water drying up, and as he thought about it, it happened. Then Nick was completely dry.
"Nick, I'm a witch, and you are too. I saw you have a vision. And if I'm wrong, than you must think I'm some sort of crazy person, and I'll probably just use some kind of spell on you to erase your memory."

"What...?" He had started to ask what was going on, but trailed off at the sudden confession. For a moment he was speechless, honestly not knowing what to say to that. "Common man, calm down," he said after a couple of seconds, chuckling and shaking his head.
"Not if I beat you to it. Wanna race, to see who can erase the other's memory first?" Nick issued that challenge with a large grin, obviously not being serious. It was rare that he ever was serious honestly, everything seemed to be a joke with him. "I was that obvious though, huh? I should probably work on that," he mused aloud, humming to himself for a moment.
The youngest Hart seemed to be lost in thought for a moment or two, but he shook it off as he turned his attention back to his friend. "So you control water? Or was that a heating ability to evaporate the water? You know, Henry can do stuff with water too, it's really use... I probably should leave that for them to explain," he said in a hushed voice, stopping himself when he realized he was rambling and telling his brother's secret too.
Nick didn't seem weirded out by all this in the least, magic having been a part of his entire life. Sure it was a bit of a surprise that his childhood friend was a witch too, since he hadn't noticed all these years. "How long have you been able to do this stuff, anyway?" He couldn't help but be curious, wondering how long he had been lied to. Then again, he had lied right back. "And for the record, I've always thought you were crazy," he added with a laugh, as an afterthought. |

Finally! A magical friend, this was awesome, they could be able to go to magic school together, and kick some serious demon-ass together! This was one of the most perfectest day ever!
"Yup, I can manipulate all forms of water, move it, heat it, cool it, and make it disappear. I'm also a technopath, if you didn't know, it means I can control technology." he said. He liked talking about magic with him, it was really good to finally be able to get something off his chest. "Also I'm part Whitelighter, and obviously I know your brothers are witches too, I mean it's kind of obvious, is one is, then so is the other." he said, before continuing to answer his question. "Could do it since I was ten, I've pretty much mastered it, but not completely." "Now you have to tell me everything! What are your powers, and when did you notice it?"
OOC: Sorry for such the short post!

It was amusing, how excited Hayden seemed to be about this. Then again, his friend didn't have two magical brothers to grow up with. Not that it was always a good thing, they had stirred up quite a lot of trouble while they were growing up.
Nodding when Hayden also admitted to being part whitelighter, his grin widened. "No shit? So am I! Zachary had been a whitelighter," he explained, still refusing to say that Zachary was his dad even though the man had died years ago. They hadn't gotten along very well, to say the least. Honestly, he had probably told Hayden more about how he hated his real father than his own brothers. And of course saying the guy's name reminded him of old wounds, but he did his best not to show it, his smile faltering for a mere moment before he forced it to back where it had been.
"Well, I figured that I shouldn't talk about Henry's and Charlie's secret, but... Ya know, it's really not fair how they had been able to use their powers since they were born. I didn't get to use mine 'till I was older like you. I was around twelve, I think?" Nick sounded so uncertain, he wasn't really sure if that was right or not. But it was close enough. "I have premonitions, as you saw, and I can shoot fire out of my eyes," he admitted with a smile still plastered across his face.

Hayden was filling himself with happiness, he still couldn't believe he found someone like him, and someone he's known almost his whole life, this had to be like the best day ever! Oh yeah, Nick wasn't fully related to his two brothers, no wonder he was part whitelighter and they weren't, and why maybe he had received his powers so late. It was kind of like his family, Hayden was part whitelighter, and then Jessica was a full witch. It was odd, how all these species just came into the mix.
"Ouch, fire out of the eyes? That should hurt." he said, giving off a slight chuckle. Then something rang across his mind, he remembered hearing at magic school about the Halliwell sister dying and how three brothers from a different life of witches were now the power of three. Oh Shit! It had to be the Hart brothers! "It's you isn't it! You guys are the charmed ones!" He almost shouted gleefully. "I heard about it in Magic School! You go to magic school right? Oh my god this is so frigging awesome." He didn't really know why he was happy about this whole thing, but hey he hadn't been happy in a long time.

It wasn't often that the other got like this, and he was actually glad that it was because of him. Sure he was glad that he had more in common with his friend, but he was mostly happy because Hayden was happy... If that made sense. There was no doubt that he could only be in a good mood if other people were, and if others were down then he probably would be too.
"It'd hurt you more," he laughed himself, so easily affected by how others were acting. However, as much as he was liking how thrilled Hayden was, his own smile disappeared the second the charmed ones were mentioned. And he moved forward to place a hand over his friend's mouth to keep the guy from saying anything more. "Look man, I know you're excited, but don't shout that out, okay? Ya never know who might be listening," Nick was speaking in a hushed voice, as if to empathize his point. Maybe he had been a little paranoid ever since the power of three had been passed to him and his brothers, worried about the demons that would surely come for them.
With a sigh he moved to back away from Hayden, letting his hand fall back down. He wasn't exactly saying that the other had been right, but it was probably obvious by how he was acting and how he wasn't denying it. "I used to go there, but they got pissed 'cause I skipped too many classes. I've been thinking about going back, though," Nick said after that short pause, forcing a smile back on his lips. It was obvious that he wasn't comfortable with being a charmed one, but he wasn't going to bring down his friend's good mood with all his doubts and insecurities. |
